1894 THE ANACONDA EXTENSION GOLD MINING COMPANY - CRIPPLE CREEK, COLORADO - Issued to N.E. Guyot for 1,000 shares and also signed by him as president. N.E. Guyot is known for opening the first assay office in Cripple Creek. It should be noted that the original president of the Anaconda Extension was Horace W. Tabor. Office at Denver, Colorado.

1908 THE JAPAN - FLORA MINES & TUNNEL COMPANY - Telluride, Colorado - San Miguel County. (Incorporated in 1903) Ore from this early mine contained gold, silver, copper, lead and zinc.

1895 THE VICTOR GOLD MINING COMPANY, LIMITED - Cripple Creek, Colorado - Offices at Denver. The left side is printed in English and the right in French. 6 payment coupons are still attached to the bottom. This company owned the Victor, Little Joe, Panther, and Victor #2 claims - all situated on Bull Hill.

1899 THE CARBONATE HILL GOLD MINING & MILLING COMPANY - Incorporated Dec. 3rd, 1895 in Colorado. This was a Cripple Creek operation. Owned the New Year and Hustler Lodes on Copper Mountain. There was a shaft house on the Hustler Lode. Main office at Colorado Springs.

189_ THE COLORADO TRADING & TRANSFER COMPANY - Shares could be purchased for $100 each. This was a Cripple Creek company that had quite an interesting history behind it. It was originally started by A.E. Carlton, the man who ultimately consolidated the majority of the gold producing mines in Cripple Creek under the Golden Cycle Corporation. A.E. Carlton and his brother Leslie moved to Colorado from Illinois in 1889. I am told the company hauled freight from railroad stations into the town of Cripple Creek. Denver, Colorado printed above date line which would indicate there were also offices there. Unissued. 1890s

189_ THE CARBON GOLD PRECIPITANT COMPANY - Incorporated Under the Laws of the State of Colorado - Offices at Colorado Springs. Unissued, but if you hold it up to the light, the watermark reads 1892.

Hand-signed by Colonel" Archibald G. Brownlee as vice president. A.G. Brownlee was born in Canada and was a member of the corps of rifle experts. After moving to the U.S. in 1878 he became a captain in the U.S. Army. In 1889 he was made agent to the Indians at the Standing Rock Agency in North Dakota. He had large mining interests in Colorado and Alaska.

1918 THE ROSE NICOL GOLD MINING COMPANY - Incorporated (in 1899) in Colorado - Certainly a nice name for a gold mine! Attractive pink certificate issued to M.A. McLeod for 1,000 shares. Notice the flowers around the title. This was a Teller County, Cripple Creek, Colorado operation. Mines included the Rose and Gurley mines on Battle Mountain and Bull Hill. A.D. Aitkin signed the certificate as secretary. According to my research, Verner Z. Reed was the original president of the Rose Nicol.
