GENUINE CORE SAMPLE FROM THE BLACK CLOUD MINE - LOCATED AT LEADVILLE, COLORADO - This is certainly the nicest sample I have seen from this famous western mining district. Beautiful veins and pockets of gold-colored minerals go all the way around - even on the ends. I acquired it from a reputable seller who is quite knowledgeable about mines in the Leadville region. I am told it contains Quartz (the white areas), Pyrite (there are some larger Pyrite crystals on one end), Galena, Zinc and a small amount of actual Gold and Silver. I of course cannot guarantee how much precious metal it contains. Gold and Silver mine specimens like this do not come along very often!
Price - $95.00
Photos show 2 different views of the same sample - Actual size: 3 inches in length by 1 & 5/8 inches in diameter

1897 THE ARKANSAS VALLEY SMELTING COMPANY - Leadville, Colorado - This scarce ore assay sheet contains a lot of specific information about how rich the rock was from the Yak Mining, Milling & Tunnel Company located near Leadville. It is quite large and did not fit entirely on my scanner.
Also available are ore assay sheets from THE OMAHA AND GRANT SMELTING COMPANY of Denver, Colorado - The origin of this ore was also Leadville. Dated 1897.
Price - One from each company / $50.00
1880 GRAND VIEW MINING COMPANY - State of Colorado - Beautiful, very early Colorado certificate. This is the very first one issued by the company - Stock# 1 Issued to Dumont Clarke for 500 shares worth $100 each. I acquired this certificate with other old stocks that also contained the name Dumont Clarke, originating from Leadville, Colorado, so I assume this was also a Leadville mining operation. Unique oval vignette shows a group of miners using an ore chute to fill ore carts in a tunnel - another miner can be seen swinging a pickax. Printed by the Franklin Bank Note Company, NY.
Price - $450
